Merge/Purge Services - Direct Mail List Processing
CMDI processes hundreds of lists a week for clients prospecting the commercial list market. Our efficient merge/purge process standardizes incoming files, eliminates duplicated records and suppresses existing donors within 48 hours of request.
Over a 16 month period, CMDI received 1,361 files containing names of nearly 70 million prospective donors for a single client. After complex suppressions and the merge/purge process, our client mailed 42 million prospects, saving themselves unnecessary postal costs, as well as saving their prospects the hassle of receiving duplicated mailings.
Data Processing Hygiene/CASS Certification™
CMDI uses the United States Postal Service® CASS Certification software, which standardizes addresses by verifying zip codes, zip+4, or carrier route codes. The USPS offers a special postage rate for most CASS-certified files.
Data Entry
The CMDI data entry system allows for minimal error, optimal quality control, and speed. By keying directly in dMS, duplicates are immediately identified, source codes validated, and addresses standardized and verified with zip+4 appends.
Batch Balance Reporting, a feature of dMS, balances to the penny once data is keyed and compared to daily control sheets, confirming dollar accuracy.
Data entry volume is managed efficiently and quickly. For example, between June 2003 and November 2004, our staff keyed more than 2.1 million records accurately and on time.
List Rental Fulfillment
CMDI responds within 24 hours of list requests and selects names according to criteria, such as most recent/highest previous gift amounts, gift dates, region, state, and SCF. Previously-mailed names are easily omitted to avoid overlap when fulfilling orders.
