DexFile is the companion FEC filing software that is available to all Dexter clients. Memo text will automatically appear for records with exception codes or you can fill in your own within the gift record. In-Kind contributions, partnership attributions, redesignations, reattributions and other special situations are shown correctly after importing from Dexter. Best efforts updates are easily reported on amended reports. You’ll be surprised how much easier FEC filing can be when using DexFile!
Adjustment Tracking
Enter refunds, charge backs, bounced checks, split contributions and all other necessary adjustments into Dexter, and they will import in perfect FEC format into DexFile.
Balance and Reconcile
Several pre-built reports assist in reconciling bank statements to the database. A few of the report options include looking up credit cards by last four digits (helpful in tracking charge backs!), outputting a list of adjustments by date and type, as well as providing detailed accounting of gifts by contribution type and date.
Enter Data
Add contribution records to Dexter using the Data Entry Batching system, add electronic files with the Import Module or contact CMDI about professional data entry.
Best Efforts
Follow up a second time with donors who have contributed above the threshold but not yet provided their occupation and employer information. Dexter provides an easy method for selecting those who fit this criteria and marks their record so you – and the FEC! – know that you have attempted to obtain this information as required.
Compliance Coding
Dexter is equipped with a compliance coding system. Use these Exception Codes and you will always be aware of your compliance issues and progress in resolving them before FEC-mandated deadlines. Dexter tracks donors whose contributions require follow-up correspondence and makes it easy to prepare letters for various compliance situations.
